The sacrament of Confirmation is a sealing of the graces received in Baptism through the outpouring of the gifts Holy Spirit. The candidate for Confirmation is united more completely to Christ and is equipped to live as a disciple in the world.

Confirmation at Nativity is generally celebrated in 8th grade, although high school youth who have not yet been confirmed are also welcome to join in the preparation and celebration of the Sacrament. The schedule of preparation sessions is below; all sessions are held at the Parish Center at Nativity.

• Sunday, October 20 - 6:30-8pm
• Sunday, November 10 - 6:30-8pm
• Sunday, January 12 - 6:30-8pm
• Sunday, February 16 (Retreat) - 8:30am-5pm
• Sunday, March 9 - 6:30-8pm
• Sunday, April 6 - 6:30-8pm
• Tuesday, April 29 - Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation - 7pm, Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral
   

Confirmation Preparation Expectations

• Participate regularly in Sunday Mass and the life of the Church
• Attend at least 5 of 6 Confirmation Preparation Sessions, including the February retreat day
• Engage in service to the local community
• Select an appropriate sponsor for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation
• Write a letter to the Archbishop of Indianapolis according to the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis
• Provide a baptismal certificate as proof of baptism
