The school commission would like to thank all of our families who have registered for the 2012-13 school year.  Having so many families registered at this time helped the tuition discussions go very smoothly.  The tuition increase reflects an overall average of 2.5% which covers increases in costs such as salaries, electricity, etc.

Thanks to all of our families who completed the online survey for the 2012-13 school year. Based upon the survey results, teacher input, and much discussion with other South Deanery schools and the Office of Catholic Education, Nativity will be on a “balanced calendar” for the 2012-13 school year. It will be similar to the calendar adopted by Franklin Township with a few modifications to accommodate our Catholic faith traditions. Below is a general outline:

August 1                               First Day for Students

August 16 & 17                    No School (Augustravangza)

Sept. 3                                   No School (Labor Day)

October 8-19                         Fall Break

October 19                            Parent/Teacher Conferences

November 21-23                   Thanksgiving Break

December 24 – Jan 4            Christmas Break

Jan. 21                                   MLK Day (no school)

Feb. 18                                   Presidents’ Day (no school)

March 18-22                          Spring Break

April 1                                    No School (Monday after Easter)

May 27                                   Memorial Day (no school)

May 30                                   Last day of classes

The State of Indiana requires that students have 180 instructional days. With this calendar, we have scheduled 182 instructional days. If needed, the 2 extra days can be used as snow make-up days before we would need to add days to the end of the school year.
