A big congratulations goes out to all partcipants in the musical, Godspell! Mrs Hamm and Mrs Braun have outdid themselves again with their direction of the musical. The students performed and sang wonderfully.
The school commission would like to thank all of our families who have registered for the 2012-13 school year. Having so many families registered at this time helped the tuition discussions go very smoothly. The tuition increase reflects an overall average of 2.5% which covers increases in costs such as salaries, electricity, etc.

The CYO Music contest was held on Saturday, February 11th. All participating Nativity students earned a first place in the contest! Congratulations to all! More details will be published soon.

Starting February 18th, Computer Classes for Nativity Community Members will be taught at Nativity School by Solvonex. This new adult-oriented education program is sponsored by the Nativity Catholic Parish and is aimed at bettering your computing skills by using the investments the parish and school have made in technology.
You can learn valuable skills such as Introduction to PCs, Windows 7 Pro, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more. Every paid registration will benefit students at Nativity. Congratulations to Kaiser Weber, Alex Payne, and Maddie Hofmeister for reading over TWO MILLION words a piece! With their help, the help of our 16 millionaires and other Nativity students, we have read 57,976,205 words and are now over half way to our school goal. Looks like Mrs. Rodriguez will be kissing a pig!
Thanks to all of our families who completed the online survey for the 2012-13 school year. Based upon the survey results, teacher input, and much discussion with other South Deanery schools and the Office of Catholic Education, Nativity will be on a “balanced calendar” for the 2012-13 school year. It will be similar to the calendar adopted by Franklin Township with a few modifications to accommodate our Catholic faith traditions. Below is a general outline:

The State of Indiana requires that students have 180 instructional days. With this calendar, we have scheduled 182 instructional days. If needed, the 2 extra days can be used as snow make-up days before we would need to add days to the end of the school year.

Our program was wonderful! The students were spectacular and had so much fun! Classrooms at Nativity will be "a-buzz" with spelling in January. Representatioves from classrooms will be chosen to represent their grade level in Nativity's speeling which to be held on Monday, January 23rd at 1:30. The winner of this spelling bee with go on to the Scripps Spelling Bee to be held in our area. Parents and friends are invited to the Nativity Spelling Bee. We hope to see you there!
Please join Nativity students in church on Friday, January 20th for Eucharistic Adoration. Please check with your child's teachers for a schedule for the time their class will be in church.
As of November 18th, Nativity students have read 31,516,680 words. Our yearly goal is 110,000,000 words. If we reach our goal, Mrs. Rodriguez will kiss a real pig!
As of November 18th, Nativity students have practiced their Math skills on IXL Math, a web-based program, for 664 hours and 44 minutes! Go Titan Mathematicians!
During the month of November, the sixth grade will be collecting can goods for the Mary Meier Food Drive of Franklin Township. Please send any donations to the school.
As of October 7, 2011 - Nativity Catholic School has raised $330.95 in our Penny Wars. The proceeds of this 8th grade service project will benefit those devastated by the tornado in Joplin, Missouri, and also help fund our 8th graders class trip later this year. This is just an example of the service projects organized monthly by each grade here at Nativity!
